Aister ‘oo’ Lambswool Slantigirt
£4.50
Slantigirt is the name of our late Uncle Willie's Lerwick Up Helly Aa Squad!
Slantigirt was an area at Holmsgarth, Lerwick (the Ferry Terminal), where the Squad would regularly meet up to discuss their yearly UHA dance or act.
They met in small dilapidated huts, thus getting the nickname, Slantigirt.
Slanti (slanted) and "girt" (pronounced "gert") is a variation of "garth' or "gord", both of which refer to an enclosure, fenced field or yard and is very
common in Shetland place names.
.Slantigirt is an undyed yarn. It is a light grey colour.
A 2 Ply Lambswool jumper weight yarn for traditional fair isle knitting.
Please note that shades and textures may vary due to the natural colour and texture of the fleece.
This yarn has a natural fleece aroma!
